About
My abstract paintings are intimate conversations – questions and observations provide guidance on how a single mark informs the next, inspiring strong flows of colour. Bold paint pours give way to the soft meandering of brush strokes that submerge and re-emerge. These are endeavours to “visually hear” in order to communicate, unfolding thoughts between personal history and emotion.
Born in Cambodia, spending the first 4 years of life in Thailand and growing up in Canada has informed my work, reflecting on the complexities of the human experience. After a year of living and working in Japan, having been exposed to the artisanal craftsmanship and reverence of artists there, I pursued studying visual art at Emily Carr University in Vancouver, Canada.
Today, I call the Sunshine Coast of beautiful British Columbia home. After several group exhibits in cities across Canada, my first solo show was exhibited.
